Billionaire

Listening to music is one of my favorite thing. I am writing this because of a song I discovered and listened to it over and over again. When it was on its peak played over the radio I did not notice, but when it was sung on Glee Season 2's first episode, I kinda liked it. I'm talking about Travie McCoy and Bruno Mars' 'Billionaire'. The lyrics by Travie McCoy somehow allows everyone to dream BIG. Once in my teen years I imagined myself with my favorite movie stars and at that time I wanted to become rich, funny but its true...:-)

Billionaire

[Bruno Mars]
I wanna be a billionaire so fricking bad
Buy all of the things I never had
Uh, I wanna be on the cover of Forbes magazine
Smiling next to Oprah and the Queen

[Chorus]
Oh every time I close my eyes
I see my name in shining lights
A different city every night oh
I swear the world better prepare
For when I’m a billionaire

[Travis "Travie" McCoy]
Yeah I would have a show like Oprah
I would be the host of, everyday Christmas
Give Travie a wish list
I’d probably pull an Angelina and Brad Pitt
And adopt a bunch of babies that ain’t never had sh-t
Give away a few Mercedes like here lady have this
And last but not least grant somebody their last wish
Its been a couple months since I’ve single so
You can call me Travie Claus minus the Ho Ho
Get it, hehe, I’d probably visit where Katrina hit
And damn sure do a lot more than FEMA did
Yeah can’t forget about me stupid
Everywhere I go Imma have my own theme music

[Chorus]

Oh every time I close my eyes
I see my name in shining lights
A different city every night oh
I swear the world better prepare
For when I’m a billionaire
Oh oooh oh oooh for when I’m a Billionaire
Oh oooh oh oooh for when I’m a Billionaire

[Travis "Travie" McCoy]
I’ll be playing basketball with the President
Dunking on his delegates
Then I’ll compliment him on his political etiquette
Toss a couple milli in the air just for the heck of it
But keep the fives, twentys (?) completely separate
And yeah I’ll be in a whole new tax bracket
We in recession but let me take a crack at it
I’ll probably take whatevers left and just split it up
So everybody that I love can have a couple bucks
And not a single tummy around me would know what hungry was
Eating good sleeping soundly
I know we all have a similar dream
Go in your pocket pull out your wallet
And put it in the air and sing

[Bruno Mars]
I wanna be a billionaire so fricking bad
Buy all of the things I never had
Uh, I wanna be on the cover of Forbes magazine
Smiling next to Oprah and the Queen
[Chorus]
I wanna be a billionaire so frickin bad!

Dogs are truly man's bestfriend

My busy schedule restricted me to see and take care of Potpot (my minnie pincher/shitzu dog). Since living alone isn't fun at all. My cousin gave Potpot to me. It is certainly true that having a pet would really flush away stress. My daily routine with her includes walking, feeding, and playing. I really had enjoyed being with my Potpot.

I do a lot of things for me to earn for a living. And I feel guilt every time I think of Potpot left alone in the house. No one is left to feed her. So, I have decided to return her to my cousin so that she will be properly taken care of.
Every weekend or if I have a vacant time, I pay her a visit. She's still the same sweet and playful Potpot. Though I seldom see her, I am at peace knowing that she's happy in her new home.

Living a healthy lifestyle

I am more conscious with the food that I eat. Just recently, I have had cough and colds and looked really pale because I was anemic. Taking medications and vitamins would really cost a lot. I realized that, I must do something to regain my strength and good physique before its too late. This morning I do some stretching and running around the house, drink a lot of water to replace the sweat that came up of my body. For breakfast, I prepared a healthy meal, porridge with malunggay leaves (Moringa oleifera Lam) with boiled egg and fish.

It's good to start the day right. To live healthy, we need to think, decide and act. Living healthy doesn't need an expensive food, supplement and equipments. Remember that the best things in life are free. So instead of buying, we can plant vegetables and fruit in our backyards. So if you want to live healthy, you decide and begin the action

Wanna be Stress Free? Try Gardening!

Gardening is one of the best things I do after a stressful day of work. By simply looking at the flower's variety of colors already makes my day. I grew up in an environment where everyone loves to grow plants, orchids (Vanda) especially. Though orchids needs a lot of nurturing, when its flower buds start to show, it gives fulfillment. Based on my personal experience, I've listed the benefits I've gained from nurturing plants.
  • It makes you forget your problems.
  • It gives a healthy and clean surroundings.
  • Greens can give a good eye-sight.
  • You can also earn by selling.
  •  Fulfillment.
Everyone can do gardening or planting. There are a lot of plants to choose.

Take a peek at the orchids I've personally nurtured.

The wonders of Chocolate Hills, Bohol

"I've got the chance to visit one of the eight wonders of the world, Chocolate Hills."

The plan was to just go to Bohol and visit a friend's relative. Never did we think of going elsewhere. Excited, for it was my first time to visit the province. The fare is just fair enough for a chance of a lifetime. Two hours of cruising to reach Tubigon is not enough to enjoy the calmness of the sea. I saw a lot of beautiful islands, I wish I have a photographer's camera to take the details of each island.

When we arrive at the Tubigon pier, Sheila (friend), decided to tour us around Chocolate Hills and Sagbayan Peak. I got more thrilled, as we rode in that tricycle I've only seen in that place.

It took us more than an hour before we finally reached Carmen, where the famous Chocolate Hills is located. Amazing views of nature God has uniquely created.

My camera isn't really of high quality but I'm lucky enough to have seen the wonders of Chocolate Hills.

The sun was in his mightiest, but I had a bottle of water and a sarong to cover.

I jumped for joy!

Next destination:  Sagbayan Peak, in Sagbayan Bohol.

Enough steps to make you ask for another bottle of water.

In Sagbayan Peak, there are few hills, a theme park and water park for kids to enjoy.

Of course, I didn't miss the opportunity to see the Tarsiers.

My chinggu, Jeny

My super friend Jeny (in yellow) was the first person to know about my baby blog site. Everytime I get new views through FeedJit, I always tell her about the views from Korea or US. She answers back with a smile as though there's something in her smile.

"What's wrong chinggu yah..?"She laughs everytime I speak Korean, well..that's my way of teasing her.
"You promised to feature me on your blog, I haven't seen it until now" she said. I laughed and answered "Okay."
Just a few flashback of how we've met
Jeny is such a great friend. We were co-workers before, we get along very well and she's always there ready to listen whenever I needed someone to talk to. We got really close after my mother died last year. She's like a sister to me. We've discovered that we do have a lot of things in common. We've had a lot of  food trips , walking on malls and dreams. We both care so much for our families. I really love being with my chinggu. I hope that God will see us through. I thank her for sharing to me the words of God.

Gomawa chinggu yah!

My preference is Personal Preference (개인의 취향)

I have had few days off so I've got the chance to watch Personal Preference.  Son Ye Jin (손예진) has always been my all time favorite. I've watched all of her movies and dramas.  I really had fun watching it, Ye-jin is back with her comedic roles after Crazy First Love (첫사랑 사수 궐기대회) and The Art of Seduction (작업의 정석).  She can really play it well. Son Yejin is truly a certified versatile actress.  Male protagonist Lee Minho (이민호) played the role very well too. OMG he is really handsome, I've read from news that he's a conservative guy..[giggles] .
Watching Personal Preference made my 3 days off.  I still think of the funny scenes of Park Gae-In and Jeon Jinho.  It's somehow inspiring and a good topic to talk about. My favorite scene was when Jinho said the most awaited... "Game over-mida".

Love Story in Harvard (러브스토리 인 하버드)

These drama is about two Korean people who studied in Harvard University. She was misunderstood by him. Later on, he found out that she wasn't the girl he thought of as selling herself to earn extra. She is Lee Soo In (played by Tae Hee (김태희)), a medical working student. Kim Hyun Woo (played by Kim Rae won (김래원)), a law student who at first has a hard time adjusting with his workload espeacially with his professor John H. Keynes (Played by Frank Gorshin).
Later on Hyun Woo and Soo In fell in love but of course just like any Korean drama they've encountered a lot of problems.

I fell in love with this drama once again. I liked how Hyun Woo fought for her love to Soo In. Just I've noticed, there's a lot of running in this drama. My most unforgettable scene, when Soo In was inside the bus then he kissed her through the glass. He wrote "I love you" on the glass and then he left.

And they have a happy ending.  Kim Tae Hee is one of my favorite actress because of this drama.

Saddened by Park Yong-ha's (박용하) death

'June 30, 2010: on the news, Park Yong-ha committed suicide.'

I just learned today while doing some thorough browsing on what's going on with the Korean Entertainment. Why am I so late with this? ahh.. I was busy creating my new blog site. Looking at the picture of this really handsome Yong-ha. I was saddened by the news. Looking at his photos brings back my memories way back when I watched him as Kim Sang-hyuk in Winter Sonata.

Park Yong-ha committed suicide and did not even left any notes. I wonder what he's been depressed of, to even took his own life. Doesn't he have any friends? Anyway, with Korea as the country which have the most number of suicidal case...[sigh]

I remembered when I asked Claire(my Korean student) why is that most Korean celebrities took their own lives?
"Maybe because they are pressured by their stardom. People look up to them so much and when they're out of the limelight they started to be depressed, also financial and love problems", Claire said.

For whatever his reason of ending his own life. I pray that his soul may rest in peace.

My favorite Fullhouse(풀하우스) OST

Original soundtrack (OST) gives a distinct sound or it allows the viewer to remember the drama and the emotions exerted by a character. When a music is added to a drama scene, it makes the viewer cry more or when it is in a comedy scene, makes us laugh more.
I have my list of personal favorite OST's from Fullhouse Korean drama:
     [links via Youtube.com]

First Korean drama hook-up: Fullhouse(풀하우스)

Fullhouse was my first ever favorite Korean drama starring Rain(Bi) and Song Hye Gyo.
I even bought two DVD copies of it just in case either one would breakdown. I love the chemistry of the two lead actors. They looked good together on screen.

The story is all about Han Ji-Eun (SHG) who lives in a house built by his father and named it Fullhouse. Ji-Eun's best friends trick her that she has won a free vacation. While she's away, they sell her house. Then Ji-Eun met the famous actor Lee Young-Jae(Bi) on the plane. When she comes back, she discovered that her house has been sold to Young-jae.

The story has a lot of comedic events especially when they lived together because both of them doesn't want to give up the house. She lived in the house as a helper for her not to be kick out of the house. Complications arise when they become attracted to each other.

I've had so much fun and even cried in this drama. The OST blended well with the scenes. I started to become a fan of Song Hye Gyo after watching it and watch it over and over again.

A day with Hyun

I can say that my sister really played a big role with my inclination to Korean people and stuff. It was in the middle of 2006 when she introduced me to Hyun, a male Korean student who wanted to mingle and meet new friends. He asked my sister to introduce him to some of her friends. My sister thought of me right away, she knows that I am really interested too. We met at the coffee shop and I was late. When I first saw him, he was really pretty for a man. We've talked a lot of things over a glass of iced tea in a coffee shop. I really had a great time with him. We didn't have dead air because he had a lot of questions and funny stories. He even told me that he will go to Canada and study there.

Hyun is an atheist, he doesn't believe in God because for him; "to see is to believe." He asked me to bring him to a bookstore because he needed a note. At first I didn't understand what he meant by "note." When I asked him if it's a notebook, he didn't answer. He just looked for it and when he found it, a notebook indeed. In Korea, a laptop is called "notebook."

Our last stop was in a Korean restaurant. I was really happy at that time because it was my first time to eat in a Korean restaurant. We ordered Samgyopsal which I really liked. He even taught me how to use metal chopsticks but as a beginner I used the wooden one. I've learned a lot from Hyun and he treated me really well. When we're about to part ways, he told me that the reason why he brought me to a Korean restaurant was because my sister told him my fascination for Korean people and foods.

It was a memorable and I can say one of my happiest moments.

One shot! One Shot!

My sister invited few of her Korean students and co-teachers on her 26th Birthday. It wasn't really a big bash, a cake to blow and five bottles of beer made it a celebration. From afar, I've seen them having great time chatting and drinking.

I began to compare how Korean people and my own celebrate, I can say that "fairly the same." In the midst of their feast, one student said "let's play one shot!" noticeably; in her Korean accent.

The game goes like this: in random, one will start counting. Let say, I'll start with "one" then another person will say "two". If two people utter the same number at the same time, punishment awaits. And the loser will have a shot of beer while the others are chanting one shot, one shot! NAME one shot!

My friend married Jae Gil

They've met in a church near our place. She's in her late 20's and Jae Gil was 40 at that time. They were introduced by friends. Love just worked in mysterious ways because Jae Gil can't speak in English, they communicate thru an interpreter.

There was even a time when my friend wanted to give up their relationship because of the language barrier. It was just a very short courtship that ended into marriage. Now, they lived in Korea and are happily married with kids.

How it all started

When I was young, I've heard of "Korean bug" from my uncle. He used to fed his fighting cocks with this tiny little creatures. At that time, I kept on saying the words never realized that somehow it will become a part of my circle of interest (not the bugs but the word Koreans).

During my teenage life, I've also heard of Korean moonies. I've had it in my mind but didn't bother to know, as I was busy with other teenage stuff. When I was in college, my bestfriend encouraged me to earn extra. She introduced me to her Korean friend who wants to learn English.

Along the way, I've met a lot of Korean people thru my sister, whose an ESL teacher. She invited her students to our house whenever there's an occasion. I still have a lot of Korean people, food, situation encounters. So I sort into writing this blog, some kind of expressing or documenting my experiences with Koreans plus my love for them.
